Bypass insert jack port midi problem

Postby FFF » Sat Jul 30, 2016 5:34 pm

Don't know if it is a bug or maybe I'm doing something wrong.. In Guitarix 0.35.1git the bypass insert jack port does not react when mapped to a midi control.. The engine status control works when mapped to a midi control but only gives me running or muted options, no bypass. I use Guitarix without a GUI and would like to control these with a midi controller. Is it me, the midicontroller, the git version or how can I use these?

Thanx,
FFF

Hi

Thanks for the report, indeed a bug.
I've pushed a fix now to git, but, to make it clear, the insert jack bypass, bypass only the use of the jack-buffer from the insert ports, eg. gx_head_amp to gx_head_fx to allow the on/off switch of inserts.
It wont bypass the hole engine.
So it's not comparable with the engine status control.
engine bypass with midi control isn't included right now,

Hi Hermann,

in the GUI the engine can not be bypassed by mouse click anymore, status yellow is gone.. only green & red status, is this on purpose?

Hi

That was never the case. Bypass engine was only implemented as menu option.
However, I've now added support for the scroll wheel to the status images, so switching to bypass mode with the mouse wheel is now possible. Also the other status images react now on the mouse wheel.

On top I've added a new menu entry under the options menu, to allow the selection of a midi controller for the engine bypass. That will allow you to bypass the engine in headless mode.
